317 N Rome Ave sits about 0.7 miles from the University of Tampa campus, roughly a 15 minute walk. It's the closer of City Dog's two Tampa locations to UT. No shuttle, no rideshare, just a walk over for tacos and a patio table.
The Tacos
The taco lineup runs from simple to loaded. Straight tacos come with red bells, onions, avocado, lettuce, and cheese: steak $14, chicken $13.75, or potato $12. Fish or shrimp tacos are blackened tilapia or shrimp on two soft flour tortillas with cabbage, avocado, cilantro aioli, and black bean mango salsa, $16. For something bigger, lobster tacos run $18.75, two soft flour tortillas with the same cabbage, avocado, and cilantro aioli, plus a side of black bean mango salsa.
Not Just Tacos
The full City Dog menu is at Rome Ave too: brunch, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, wings, and a full bar with about 20 beers on draft. Same menu, same prices as Kennedy Blvd, just closer to campus.
Bring Everyone, Dog Included
The front patio is dog-friendly, with outdoor seating and a full bar close by, good for a group after class or before a night out. Kitchen and bar run late Friday and Saturday if the walk over happens after dark.
